Kerry Anne Sullivan's Resume

As a youngster, Kerry Anne  was brought up in country Victoria Australia.  She was a bright

lively youngster who loved the colour of  the Australian landscape that her family had farmed

for generations.  She  spent long hours  drawing  and  she loved 'colouring in'.

She was totally unaware that there was such a thing as 'art' out there in the big wide world.

Many years after completing University and graduating as a teacher, she found herself again

living in the isolation of the Australian bush.  It was then that she  turned to what she loved

most -  drawing, colour and the Australian landscape. So she began to paint what she knew

best - the Australian landscape.

Before long her paintings were selling and she was asked to teach art locally.

Years passed as she honed her craft to a standard of excellence that would stand her in

good stead for what was to come. She learnt her craft from experience and Lance McNeil,

her tutor, at  the Mc Neil Academy of Realist Art.

Kerry Anne has also been enormously influenced by the work of world acclaimed Canadian

artist, Robert Bateman, whose work she come in contact with in 1991 and again in 1996 during

trips to Canada in which she met Robert and his wife Birgit on Salt Spring Island in British Columbia.

Other influences have been the Australian Heidelberg School and the works of Sir Arthur Streeton

and Frederick McCubbin, along with those of  Fred Williams, Clifton Pugh, Jackson Pollock,

and of course Sidney Nolan and Brett Whitley  are also strong influences that have empowered

her paintings.

Her paintings reflect her love of colour, the effects of our stunning Australian light and the texture

of the landscape of which she has first hand knowledge.

Kerry Anne has travelled widely gaining art knowledge and data across the world. She has exhibited

in Paris and won numerous awards for her art prior to running her own gallery businesses in both

Berwick and Toorak. Whilst in these businesses she had the privilege of handling the work of many

of Australia’s top artists.  She was also well known for the running of some of Australia’s major wildlife,

landscape, floral and equine art exhibitions.

Kerry Anne is also a past councillor and member of Australian Guild of Realist Artists and a member of

the Victorian Artist’s Society, a past member of the Pastel Society of Victoria,  the Contemporary Art

Society of Victoria, the Bendigo Art Society and the Berwick Art Society.  She is also a past member

and councillor of The Wildlife Art Society of Australasia.

Kerry Anne  teaches the principles of Realist & Contemporary Art  and has done so for  the past

twenty years. She is also a proficient  and thorough Art Show Judge and is keenly sought for

demonstrations and workshops.

Kerry Anne now owns and runs Kerry Anne's Fine Arts  at 10 Davis St Kew in Melbourne Victoria

Australia.  She  works from her studio at the same address.

Oil, pastel, acrylic and pencil are Kerry Anne’s favoured mediums as they give her the tone, colour

and texture she seeks in her paintings.  She also enjoys the immediacy and subtly of pencil work.

She is forever experimenting with different mediums and effects and is now well known for her

"Contemporary Realist" Australian landscape paintings.

Recently she has put together a collection of Contemporary paintings that again reflect her great

love of the Australian land/seascape and has also created some wonderful windows into her

journey's internationally.

Her paintings have won numerous awards and are featured in private, corporate and government

collections both here in Australia and Overseas.
